I just got the information right before Christmas and this is my first chance to get it out to everyone!

Norman, Oklahoma Mardi Gras Parade! We walked it last year and we'll be doing it again this year! Cosplayers, Merfolk and Pirates, Lolita Community, Convention Directors and Otaku are all welcome to rally together with us once again for the 16th Annual
Norman Mardi Gras Parade
A Family Friendly Tradition
6:45 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13th
We'll meet in our spot at 5:00PM to prep & get ready

Theme: “All You Need Is Love”

Prizes Awarded

Plus, Doggiegras-you and your best friend leashed together and in costume

Route:
We step off from the Santa Fe Depot on Jones St and go north, then east along
the 100 & 200 blocks of Main to Crawford, south to Comanche,
and back around for another loop.

Just like some of the past parades we are asking that each person RSVP and bring $1.00 to
help offset the costs and extra candy is always welcome. If you would like to pay the $1.00 in anything other than cash please contact me personally. We also ask that you do not smoke while walking in
the parade, but Pets are welcome at this one!

To RSVP go to http://www.RSVPIT.com and enter NMGParade into the field for the code. I will need a complete head count and RSVP list no later than February 1st in order to get the information to the parade directors on time. Anyone who wishes to join after that will need to contact me personally.

If you are a convention owner or director who wants to either pass out fliers or have the cosplayers pass them out we ask that you get the fliers to us no later than Feb1st and contribute either a few bags of candy or the funding to get a few bags as we almost always run out.

Well, if you're coming as one of the OK Cosplayers I'd start by suggesting you wear.... a costume maybe???

As for those bringing pets, I just ask that if you bring them they are small and well behaved. I do not want huge animals or animals that may or may not growl and attack people who they do not know, especially since most of the people will be in costumes. I've seen dogs that I've known for years snap and bite because they do not recognize the costumes being worn.

Small pets that the public can play with are fine, but must be on a leash or harness. The first time a pet snaps, growls or shows any hostile signs the owner will be asked to leave the parade group.

gotta double-check it with robert, but i think we're gonna be able to make it again this year ^^ had sooooooo much fun last year!! i'll RSVP as soon as i know for sure. Prob gonna wear my Org 13 cosplay again, tho Larxene instead of Roxas this time, cuz that coat is soooooo warm!! And its freakin cold.

Okay, I didn't know if we are supposed to wear mardi gras-type stuff, with masks or whatever

I've never been in a Mardi Gras parade before. So if I go, I guess i'll go as Youji from Loveless ^__^ However if its windy I may not cuz the wig is really long <_<

okay well my dogs should be fine since halloween was a hit, and my dog is CGC or has a Canine good citizen certificate! but i really want to bring my little shiba inu puppy. it's so hard choosing between which dogs to take when i go anywhere. *sigh*

is anyone else bringing a pooch?

I do have an umbreon set but the ears are hard to wear; they're are too heavy.
Although Kyoya cosplaying as an espeon gijinka isn't too far off from the truth...

Hey everyone, due to multiple snags (health problems, little to no participation from others and current weather) I think I'm pulling out of the parade. Please feel free to go watch and show your support to the parade, but we will not have a group there walking.

we didn't have enough people, dang! maybe by the next parade that comes up we'll get enough.

either way, to anyone who was going to the parade, a couple of us are still wanting to get together anyway.

On another note tomorrow since we are not doing the parade thing Tonya and I invite whoever wants to go with us to riverwind casino/ and do other things in Norman(hastings/borders/ect) tommorrow meeting around 5-6 if you live in metro area and need a ride let us know.
